Williams Addition
Paradise, Tx
Project Overview
Pecan Creek Construction completed this stunning home addition for the Williams family in North Texas — transforming an existing house and shop into a luxury entertainment compound complete with a safari-themed trophy room, full kitchen, game room, and outdoor living space that rivals any custom build from the ground up.
Project Goals
About This Project
The Williams family came to Pecan Creek Construction with a vision — connect their existing home to their large shop and create a luxury addition that would serve as the ultimate entertainment and lifestyle space. The site presented immediate challenges: significant elevation change and an existing sloped concrete pad under the shop that had to be carefully accounted for before a single form board went in the ground. Key objectives include:
- Safari Trophy Room
The centerpiece of this addition is a dramatic safari-themed trophy room with soaring high ceilings clad in alder tongue and groove walls, finished with a striking black R panel sheet metal ceiling. Extra structural reinforcement was built into the walls specifically to handle the weight of mounted trophies. A zoned Daikin HVAC system with beautiful exposed rolled pipe suspended ducting handles the large square footage with style — the mechanical becomes part of the aesthetic. Full spray foam insulation seals the space completely. Surround sound audio with in-wall speakers and subwoofer was wired throughout, making this room as immersive as it is impressive. - Full Kitchen
The kitchen was designed around performance and style. White oak euro-style cabinetry sets a clean, modern tone anchored by a massive 60-inch BlueStar range and a 64-inch vent hood — a professional-grade setup that means business. Engineered hardwood floors and two-tone walls with a unique hand trowel texture finish give the space warmth and depth that ties the entire addition together. - Game Room & Indoor-Outdoor Living
The game room features all the space and entertainment value you could ask for, highlighted by a curved wall of glass that looks out directly onto a golf turf area wrapping around a chipping and putting green. A 16-foot panoramic door on the trophy room exterior wall opens the entire space to an outdoor kitchen, the putting green, and a swimming pool — seamlessly blending indoor luxury with outdoor living at the highest level. - Finish Details Throughout
Alder interior doors, alder baseboard, and alder tongue and groove walls carry a cohesive natural wood theme through the entire addition. Every material selection — from the engineered hardwood floors to the hand trowel wall texture — was chosen to create a space that feels intentional, layered, and distinctly custom.
The Williams addition stands as one of the most unique and ambitious projects in the Pecan Creek Construction portfolio — a true luxury compound built around the way this family lives and entertains.
Project Execution
Our Build Process
The Williams addition required solving site challenges before construction could begin and executing a complex multi-room build with premium systems and finishes throughout. Here is how Pecan Creek Construction brought it to life:
- Site Assessment & Foundation
The existing site presented two immediate challenges — significant elevation change across the lot and an existing sloped concrete pad under the shop. Both were fully assessed and accounted for in the engineering and form work before any concrete was poured. Form boards were set precisely, all plumbing was roughed in, and a 3,500 PSI engineered concrete slab was poured — the same high-strength specification used on every Pecan Creek ground-up build. - Framing & Building Envelope
2×6 wall framing was used throughout the addition with the Huber ZIP System wrapping the entire structure — creating a tight, moisture-resistant building envelope built for long-term performance. Ceiling heights were carefully designed to exceed the existing house while maintaining a seamless architectural tie-in between old and new. - HVAC — Daikin Zone System with Exposed Ducting
A zoned Daikin HVAC system was designed and installed to handle the large square footage and high ceilings of the trophy room. Rather than hiding the ductwork, we specified beautiful rolled pipe for the exposed suspended ducting — turning a mechanical necessity into a design feature that complements the industrial-rustic trophy room aesthetic. - Insulation & Energy Performance
Full spray foam insulation was applied throughout the addition — sealing the building envelope completely and ensuring the space performs efficiently year-round regardless of Texas heat or cold. - Plumbing, Electrical & Audio
All plumbing and electrical systems were designed and installed to meet the latest 2018 mechanical and energy codes. The trophy room was wired for full surround sound audio with in-wall speakers and subwoofer during rough-in — planned from day one, not added as an afterthought. - Interior Finish Out
Alder tongue and groove walls, alder interior doors, alder baseboard, engineered hardwood floors, two-tone paint with hand trowel texture, black R panel sheet metal ceiling, white oak euro cabinetry, and a 60-inch BlueStar range — every finish was selected and executed with the same attention to detail Pecan Creek Construction brings to every custom home in North Texas. - Exterior & Outdoor Living Connection
A 16-foot panoramic door was installed on the trophy room exterior wall — opening the entire indoor living space directly to the outdoor kitchen, golf turf, putting green, and swimming pool. The result is a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience that defines luxury North Texas living.
With a commitment to excellence, Pecan Creek Construction delivers projects that go beyond expectations — whether it’s a ground-up custom home or a complex addition that transforms the way a family lives.
