Womack Residence
Paradise, TX
Project Overview
Pecan Creek Construction built the Womack Residence for dear friends who lost their home to a tornado — transforming tragedy into one of the most creative and personal custom builds in the company’s history. At 3,857 square feet of main living plus a 784 square foot upstairs studio suite, this home is large, bold, and unlike anything else in North Texas.
Project Goals
About This Project
The Womack Residence holds a special place in the Pecan Creek Construction portfolio. When close friends lost their home to a tornado, we sat down with them and helped design a plan from scratch — drawing inspiration from a previous build and adding their own color, personality, and flair throughout. What resulted is a 3,857 square foot main living space with a full 784 square foot studio suite upstairs — a home that is large, creative, and packed with one-of-a-kind spaces that reflect exactly who the Womack family is. Key highlights include:
- Chef’s Kitchen
The kitchen was built around state-of-the-art appliances — Dacor black stainless throughout, topped off with a Miele automated coffee maker that sets the tone for the entire home the moment you walk in. A huge walk-in butler’s pantry houses an additional refrigerator and dedicated counter space for smaller appliances — keeping the main kitchen clean, open, and ready to perform. This is a kitchen built for people who take cooking and entertaining seriously. - The Game Room — 550 Square Feet
Nearly 550 square feet dedicated entirely to fun. The game room features a custom bar and enough floor space to house a full collection of pinball machines with room to spare. This is the kind of space that becomes the centerpiece of every gathering — and it delivers every time. - The Bourbon Speakeasy
One of the most atmospheric rooms in the house. Old barn wood walls, a uniquely shaped high ceiling, and custom cabinetry and wall shelving designed specifically to store and display a serious bourbon collection. This room sets a mood the moment you step inside — dark, warm, intentional, and perfect for an evening of relaxation. - The DOOM Room
The single most creative room Pecan Creek Construction has ever built. The homeowner came with a vision — a dedicated space to display his collection of ID Software memorabilia — but needed help bringing it to life. We put our thinking caps on and delivered something neither we nor our cabinet makers had ever done before. Abstract wall-mounted display boxes of varying widths and heights line the room, each sealed with touchless glass and backlit with fully controllable color LED lighting. The centerpiece is a custom black cabinet with built cabinet letters, rustic dark grey subway tile matching the DOOM game aesthetic, internal shelving, and a functional outer red door that conceals the displays while maintaining the LED backlight effect. This room is a statement — and proof of what Pecan Creek Construction can execute when given creative freedom. - Outdoor Living
A huge outdoor patio built for serious entertaining — smoker, griddle, sear station and more. Every tool needed to feed a crowd and make memories with family and friends is right there ready to go.
The Womack Residence is a personal favorite — a home built for dear friends, from the ground up, after one of life’s hardest moments. It stands as a testament to what is possible when a builder truly cares about the people they’re building for.
Project Execution
Our Build Process
The Womack Residence was built to the highest structural and performance standards Pecan Creek Construction brings to every custom home in North Texas. Here is how we built it:
- Foundation & Structural Engineering
Given the size and scope of this home we engineered the foundation accordingly — a large pad with over 40 piers driven to support the structure for the long haul. A full cable tension slab at 3,500 PSI prevents future cracking and delivers a solid, lasting foundation built for decades of Texas weather. - Framing & Building Envelope
The entire structure was framed with 2×6 walls — providing a more solid structure and additional cavity depth for plumbing runs and upstairs utilities. The exterior was wrapped completely with the Huber ZIP System before brick and stone were applied, creating a superior moisture and air barrier that keeps the outside elements out for good. - Electrical & Smart Home
Two large electrical panels were installed and filled to provide full, safe, code-compliant power distribution throughout the home. Every room was pre-wired with network and audio cables during rough-in — the entire home was designed from day one to function as a fully integrated smart home. - Insulation & HVAC — Daikin 18 SEER Zone System
After all rough-in was complete we installed closed cell spray foam insulation throughout — sealing the home completely against Texas heat and cold. A Daikin 18 SEER zoned HVAC system with 5 thermostats gives individual temperature control in strategic rooms throughout the house, allowing the system to run at maximum efficiency while meeting each zone’s specific comfort needs. - Interior Finish Out
Light hand trowel texture throughout, oil and water based paints selected by application, heated flooring and towel rack warmer in the master bathroom, wood accents in the craft room, speakeasy, and game room, automated toilets, and custom cabinetry and display work throughout — every detail was executed with the same level of care and craftsmanship that defines every Pecan Creek Construction build. - Garage & Parking
A large 3-car garage and expansive guest parking area complete the exterior — providing all the space this entertaining-focused home demands.
With a commitment to excellence, Pecan Creek Construction delivers custom homes that perfectly balance form, function, and long-term value — from the engineered slab to the final coat of paint. The Womack Residence is one of our finest — and most personal — examples of that commitment.
